Plastic Free Flight | Hi Fly

In January 2026, Hi Fly marked seven years since pioneering the world’s first single-use plastic-free flight with a fully plastic-free operation between Lisbon and Recife — a milestone in aviation sustainability.

Onboard, all disposable plastics were replaced with bamboo, compostable and recycled alternatives, reducing approximately 100 kg of plastic waste per flight and reinforcing the airline’s long-term environmental commitment.
